In September, eclipse season returns. This Is not atypical for September. Ancient people were very superstitious about eclipses. They viewed them as symbols of the heavens’ or gods’ displeasure and were thought to be signs of impending punishment. Historically, September is both hurricane season and one of the worst performing months for the stock market. Is there a correlation? Perhaps. I’ve been seeing a lot of prognostications from other astrologers that September will be a pivotal month for the United States. It is possible, but never a foregone conclusion. I believe that the power of astrology lies in how people use and respond to the energy, not just what happens externally.

There will be a spectacular blood moon total lunar eclipse on September 7. It will be conjunct the North Node and in a 120-degree trine to Jupiter. A new moon conjunct the North Node, which is a karmic aspect, may represent a turning point or new beginning. For example, when the North Node conjuncts the Moon in a natal chart, it indicates that the individual may leave home or their family to start a new life. What I have been seeing in readings lately is that more and more people are turning away from what no longer serves them and making lifestyle choices that improve their quality of life. My feeling is that this planetary event will prompt more and more people to re-evaluate their patterns and make course corrections over the next six months, That’s the usual influence of eclipses, in my experience.

On September 21, the eve of the Autumn Equinox, the New Moon will cause a partial solar eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo. This eclipse will oppose the Saturn-Neptune conjunction which will both be in retrograde motion. The Saturn-Neptune conjunction is on the USA’s July 4 natal chart fourth house cusp, which represents the country’s foundation. The New Moon eclipse is on the country’s tenth house cusp, representing our global reputation.  These are very critical points in any astrological chart, which is why September could be pivotal for our country.

It is also worth noting that Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will all be in retrograde motion by September’s end. Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will all be returning to previous signs for one last visit before permanently taking up their journeys through Aries and Gemini. The movement of these planets this Autumn is also calling on us to re-evaluate our current trajectory and make important course corrections. Doing this successfully will involve some reflection and evaluation on all of our parts. As we do this individually, the collective will begin to shift too. So do not underestimate the power of personal change this month.
