I’m guessing no one will be surprised when I tell you that October will bring us a lot of mixed signals and little clarity. The month will start off with a New Moon Solar Eclipse on October 2. The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are all in a tight conjunction while the Sun is concealed in darkness for a short period of time. This may make it difficult for us to feel grounded and thinking straight. Because the New Moon is in Libra, we are being called to focus on the things that keep us in balance and bring balance to our lives. But the aspects won’t support our efforts, so extra attention is required. In addition to the eclipse, four planets will be in retrograde motion for most of the month. This energy can be frustrating and sometimes feel like one step forward and one step backwards.
The Full Moon on October 17 may be challenging, as well. Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn will be in a difficult 180-degree opposition and both planets will be in 90-degree squares to the Full Moon in Aries. Aries usually indicates new beginnings, but Mars and Pluto aren’t buying it. At the same time Jupiter in Gemini will be in a 90-degree square aspect to the midpoint between Neptune and Saturn in Pisces. Neptune dissolves reality while Saturn preserves it. I believe all this will play out as a final volatile stretch to Election Day.
I have no prediction for who will prevail in the 2024 election. In looking at their natal charts, both candidates have an even chance of winning astrologically speaking. We are seeing this in the polls, and I think October’s unsteady energy will lead us into a nail-biting final stretch (which most of us have been expecting anyway) with a possible delay in learning the final outcome. So, I remind everyone to stay calm and centered. Meditation, sound therapy, yoga or tai chi can all be beneficial activities for bringing mental peace.
