We have a Blue Moon in August. The first of the two Full Moons in August Falls on August 1. This will feel very intense because Pluto will be conjunct this Full Moon, amplifying emotions and causing some soul searching. Because these two are also forming a challenging 90-degree square to the lunar nodes, we may be contemplating questions such as, “Am I fulfilling my purpose in life?” Fortunately, Neptune is creating a gentle 60-degree sextile aspect to Pluto and the New Moon, softening some of the potentially harsh inner dialogue.

In addition, Mars, Uranus, and Neptune are finally in harmonious aspects to each other and all are in earth signs. This sends out a pleasantly grounded creative energy to help us enjoy the remainder of this dreadfully hot summer. I literally think that things will start to cool off as we get closer to the Solstice. We should also start to notice the change of the light as the days start to shorten.

Venus will remain in retrograde motion all month. As I said last month, this is a time when we are encouraged to reflect upon and revise our personal views around pleasure, relationships, money, and beauty.

Mercury will go retrograde on August 24. However, it will have a lot of support during this time from Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus. This will ease the usual retrograde confusion and may even bring some unexpected luck with it.

The month ends with a Blue Moon on August 30 which will square Uranus. This could either be a time of opportunity or stress. It depends on how you interpret it. Personally, I prefer opportunity. And I am willing to accept some stress if I can create something positive from an opportunity.
